Over the weekend (19-20 Oct) the global 24 hour programming and problem solving competition – IEEE Xtreme, was held with 16 teams from UOW participating. There were 5,015 global teams with undergraduates and postgraduates competing against each other.
The problems for the competition were developed and judged by expert programmers. The panel of expert judges was made up of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) members from both academic and industrial backgrounds.
Five Australian teams placed nationally and globally with team u003F from UOW placing first in Australia and team CapsLock placing third in Australia. This is the third year in a row UOW has come first in Australia! We also had 2 teams in the world top 100 and 3 teams in the world top 200. Outstanding!
