The SBRC is proud to announce that one of our high performing research students Danilo Pereira de Souza has recently been given the Concordia Award by the University of Wollongong’s International House, the place he has called home for the past year. The Concordia Award goes to the resident who most personifies the UOW International House mission of international friendship and intercultural harmony.

In the UOW Farewell Ceremony speech on behalf of study abroad and exchange students, Danilo spoke highly of his experience at the SBRC.

“I am one of the research students from the Sustainable Building Research Centre, which will be launched in July at the Innovation Campus. I’m grateful to Professor Paul Cooper, Director of SBRC and Dr Lan Ding, my supervisor, who accepted me as a student there – I couldn’t be happier. I have worked in many different research areas and learned as I never have before.”

Danilo will be finishing up at the SBRC in August. During his time here he has done great research around thermal comfort, life-cycle assessment of buildings and energy analysis using agent-based modelling. We thank him for his contribution and wish him the best with future studies and work.
