Talented student roboticists from around the country battled it out at the 2018 Droid Racing Challenge at QUT on Friday 6 July, with both UOW teams reaching the qualifying rounds.

This friendly competition requires teams to build an autonomous robot capable of manoeuvring around a track while staying within the obstacles and bounds.  This competition provides student teams with insights on how such a seemingly simple task requires a high level of design and programming skills.

Both UOW teams reached the qualifying rounds with Team 1 achieving the 3rd fastest lap time. Congratulations to Team 2 for making it all the way up to the top to take 2nd place in the 2018 Competition.
