A team of UOW mechatronic engineering students led by Jerome Justin participated in the finals of the National Instruments Autonomous Robotics Competition (NI ARC). The NI ARC attracts student teams from universities around Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. In this years competition, teams were tasked to build a small autonomous robot to transport cubes around a city which contained obstacles such as buildings, parks, and other robots.

The UOW Robotics Team qualified in first position in the group stage and won their way through the knockout stages to reach the championship round where they were narrowly beaten by a team from RMIT. Second place is still a fantastic result! showcasing the capability of our mechatronic students.
