The IEEE NSW Education Chapter was recently recognised selected by the IEEE Education Society to receive the 2016 IEEE Education Society Outstanding Chapter Achievement Award.

This award is given to a chapter of the IEEE Education Society and recognises chapters, through their members, who have made outstanding contributions to programs of interest to students and practitioners.

The IEEE NSW Chapter, of which faculty from the School of Electrical, Computer and Telecommunications play a significant role, were recognised for:

  • experiencing an 80% increase in membership across two years through frequent innovative technical meetings

  • supporting women in engineering education

  • and providing development opportunities to teaching assistants.
