Professor Brian Monaghan was awarded the ACARP Research Excellence Award last month for his work in developing coke analogue, specifically for the work carried out in the project “A Coke Analogue to Examine the Effect of Mineralogy on Coke Reactivity”.

Professor Monaghan explains “The coke analogue is a laboratory tool that was developed to overcome the complexity and inherent heterogeneity of industrial coke.  The use of the analogue allowed isolation and quantification of specific mineral effects on coke reactivity and the development of a research framework to improve our fundamental understanding  of high temperature coke behaviour”.

20/09/18 ACARP Awards night.
