Dr Pavel Krivitsky is part of an international team awarded 3 million dollars by the US National Institutes of Health on a project titled EpiModel 2.0: Integrated Network Models for HIV/STI Prevention Science.

The project will develop a general, open-source software platform for network-based mathematical modelling of infectious diseases, with applications in HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among men who have sex with men (MSM) and heterosexuals in the United States. It will integrate advances in social network modelling, epidemiological modelling, and economic analysis to facilitate prediction and cost-effective intervention to reduce their spread.

Dr Krivitsky’s role in the project is to provide expertise in survey sampling, statistical inference, and computation; and to lead the development of the methodology for integrating network data of different types.
