The SMART Infrastructure Facility will be hosting the inaugural International Symposium for Next Generation Infrastructure in 2013.
This symposium is the first in a series of three that will run to 2015 and frame international research collaboration at a scale and quality not seen in this sector.
The other two host partners are Arizona State University (ASU) and University College London (UCL). ASU and UCL are committed to holding the subsequent symposia in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
The objective of this symposium is to provide a platform and establish a mandate for deep international research collaboration in the area of integrated infrastructure planning, sustainability, resilience and management. This platform for international research collaboration will focus on driving knowledge development into the interaction of people, assets, networks and environment across every aspect of the infrastructure system.
This new knowledge would also be supported and promoted via a strategy for publication that is associated with the inaugural symposium and subsequent symposia.
