The SMART Infrastructure Facility has secured funding which will allow it to deliver a ‘one-stop-shop’ online portal to display and enhance information on infrastructure services and operations in a given region.
Funding has come from the Australian National Data Service totalling $215,000 for the development of the Multi Utility Dashboard (MUD).
This visually rich and interactive platform will facilitate critical insights and analytics into infrastructure data.
An initial demonstrator for the Illawarra region will be available in June 2012.
The project has already been endorsed by Sydney Water, Endeavour Energy and Thiess Services, along with on-going support from Wollongong and Shellharbour City Councils.
Project leader, Professor Pascal Perez said the funding was an acknowledgement of the importance of the work being completed at SMART in relation to providing a holistic approach to the planning and management of infrastructure.
Professor Perez is Professor of Modelling and Simulation at SMART.
