Speaker: Dr Matt Moore (UOW) Title: R package 'bayesImageS': a case study in Bayesian computation using Rcpp and OpenMP Abstract: There are many approaches to Bayesian computation with intractable likelihoods, including the exchange algorithm, approximate Bayesian computation (ABC), thermodynamic integration, and composite likelihood. This 1.5-day workshop is based on the book by Wikle, Zammit-Mangion and Cressie, Spatio-Temporal Statistics with R, published in 2019 by Chapman & Hall/CRC Press and freely available for download from https://spacetimewithr.org. The workshop considers a systematic approach to key quantitative techniques for the analysis of spatio-temporal data, with a particular emphasis on hierarchical (empirical and Bayesian) statistical modelling.
