This December, Associate Professor Montse Ros joins the EIS faculty executive as the new Associate Dean Education.

Montse brings with her a passion for teaching and learning, with 20 years teaching experience in the tertiary sector.  Montse has been the recipient of two UOW OCTAL awards for both her classroom teaching and her leadership in teaching and learning, and earlier this year was awarded a 2019 AAUT Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning for her enhancement and improvement of the student experience.

Montse is passionate about building on the faculty’s efforts in teaching and learning innovation; the dissemination of teaching best practice and enhancing our scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) through development of pedagogical expertise.  Montse is also keen to bring together our education champions across the faculty to coordinate and drive that innovation and scholarship.  Montse brings with her experience from her time on the UOW WATTLE executive committee (Wollongong Academy for Tertiary Teaching & Learning Excellence).

Whilst up to now, Montse has worked closely with academic and professional staff in the Engineering schools, she is particularly keen to meet with staff in the three non-Engineering schools in the faculty and learn more about the exciting teaching and learning projects in those schools – so expect to see her at a school morning tea near you, soon!
