Distinguished professor of civil engineering Nick Tyler has been welcomed to SMART Infrastructure Facility following his appointment as Honorary Professorial Fellow. Professor Tyler will join a number of fellow industry specialists as part of the SMART Scientific Advisory Committee, a team of visiting and honorary academics who contribute to the nationally significant research conducted at the Facility.

Professor Tyler currently holds the position of Chadwick Chair of Civil Engineering within the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University College London.

In his role as Honorary Professorial Fellow at SMART infrastructure Facility, Professor Tyler will bring his particular expertise in the way people interact with their environments to the wealth of shared knowledge that currently exists at SMART. He will be involved in collaborative research with his colleagues at the facility, and will also have the opportunity to take part in the SMART Seminar Series.

“Prof Nick Tyler will bring a wealth of experience in urban and infrastructure research to the Scientific Advisory Committee,” said Professor Pascal Perez, SMART Infrastructure Facility Director.

“Prof Tyler has been advising urban municipalities and Governments in South America for some time now.

“He is also leading cutting-edge research action in London to help re-thinking urbanity and public transport.”
