Following her recent award for Best Poster at the Steel Research Hub’s inaugural Symposium in November, Brianna Knowles, Hub PhD candidate, has been featured in BlueScope’s annual People Report. The report is designed to acknowledge the contribution of BlueScope employees to the Company’s performance, and highlight their achievements, in particular in the areas of safety, diversity and innovation. The full version of this latest report recognises the contribution of academic work to innovation, noting that Brianna also received an award from the University of Wollongong for her Bachelor of Chemistry Honours thesis. Bri’s current PhD research within the Steel Research Hub is exploring new anti-fungal coatings technologies and is underpinned by her previous honours work. Bri’s work is a great example of the industry/academic fusion that the Hub (and Australia for that matter!) is striving for. Keep up the great work Bri!
