Thanks to the wide-reaching collaborations of Associate Professor Zhenjun Ma from UOW’s Sustainable Buildings Research Centre, the Faculty’s International Unit hosted a virtual delegation from Dalian University of Technology (DUT), China, in mid-June to explore opportunities in student and staff exchange and articulation programs.
DUT is a well-established public university in China located in Dalian, Liaoning Province in the northeast area of China. It is marked as the 211 project, 985 project and is now a double First-Class university in China.
Professor Fengyu Cong, the Director of DUT International Office, opened the meeting with a presentation of DUT and an overview of its international mobility programs, including the China Scholarship Council’s International Cooperation Program for Innovative Talents (ICPIT).
Professor Christian Ritz, Associate Dean International, gave an overview of the University of Wollongong and the Faculty’s research and teaching strengths.
Talks were very productive with DUT raising opportunities to welcome undergraduates, postgraduates and PhD students UOW students for both short and long-term study there with scholarships. DUT students will have the same opportunities to visit UOW for a short term. CTA module can be considered to attract DUT students to come to UOW.
Follow up virtual meetings will be organised to continue with discussions in terms of research, student exchanges, staff exchange and other potential programs.
